Rocky Cherry

Cherry Coatings has been around for awhile. Since the 1930s in fact, when Edward Ray Cherry and his wife Louis started their own painting business. Their children, Pat and Jan Cherry took over in the 1960s and it continues today with the third generation of Cherrys, Rocky and Zack.

With a legacy like that, there's no doubt they're doing something right, and it probably has something (if not everything) to do with their servant hearts. We chatted with Rocky about the Hoot and Holler, they've been supporters since day one, and here's what he had to say:

Rocky, his wife, Randy Rogers, and Wade Bowen!
You've been supporting Hoot & Holler for a few years now, why do you keep coming back?
Rocky: A fun filled night to let loose and connect with fellow trade partners for a great cause is a recipe for success.

Who has been your favorite performance? Why?
Rocky: Randy Rogers, it was great seeing my wife enjoying the intimate setting watching one of her favorite artists.

What would you tell someone that's never been to the Hoot & Holler before?
Rocky: It is the talk of the town, one of the most fun industry leading events in North Texas that supports great causes.

How are you connected to The Carson Leslie Foundation or the Women’s Auxiliary of Children’s Medical Center?
Rocky: If you are a trade partner of DPR then you have the honor of being a supporter of The Carson Leslie Foundation. As a father of two, it breaks my heart to see any child having to fight cancer. This is a great cause to support

Which musician would you most like to see at Hoot & Holler?
Rocky: To bring back some college memories, I really enjoyed having dollar beer night, watching Pat Green or Cross Canadian Ragweed from the Red Dirt Tours in Oklahoma. Probably can’t bring back the dollar beers but we can bring back Pat!

If Hoot & Holler was an emoji, which one would it be?
Rocky: My kids love when I Facetime them and use the monkey avatar.  So a monkey, monkey around. 🐵
Rocky, in this season of thanks, we are so grateful for your continued support of the Hoot & Holler and our of community! We are excited to continue our work together with future generations of Cherrys!
